A Smoothie for NYE Recovery

Susan has a simple but delicious solution to begin the New Year. After a night of drinking and (over)eating, a smoothie is an effective way to detoxify your body and improve digestion. This delightful detox recipe is low in calories, high in fiber, and contains powerful antioxidants, lives enzymes, and vitamins for an anti-inflammatory effect. Pineapple helps to cleanse the intestines and the kidneys while promoting a healthy metabolism. It will help metabolize any alcohol left in your system. Ginger can be used to relieve nausea and tofu is great because of the proteins you get from it. This healthy “Susan-approved” smoothie is also a wonderful energy and immune booster you can drink all year round!

Susan’s getting ready for her LA trip and cannot wait to see all of her west coast fans! Thank You, US Army Soldier, from Susan Ciminelli

Susan always says that she was meant to do what she does. By that she doesn’t simply mean to create her skincare line or to perform her services on clients. Her passion lies in helping others in anyway she can, especially if she can help them improve their wellness and help to remove their insecurities through healing their skin.

Our friends at How to be a Redhead shared this video with us of a US Army Soldier who shared his love for Susan Ciminelli skincare products. Click here to see the video.

If you can’t watch the video, here’s a transcript of his story:

“Hi Susan, my name is Josh Hodges. I’m in the U.S. Army and I just wanted to say thank you. I was introduced to your products recently, probably about 6 months ago or a little bit more.

In the field we were training. We’d sleep in trucks and Humvees or on the ground and just wake up and shave, and my face was so broken out that I couldn’t even — it hurt….

The Cleansing Milk and the oils and the mineral spray, everything I’ve got from you, I go to the field and I can’t leave home without it because I know that my face is going to break out. So I just wanted to say thank you and I also hope you have a Merry Christmas.”

To this we say THANK YOU, Josh Hodges! Thank you for not only sharing your story, but also for serving out country. Your story touches our hearts and we are so thankful for the support.

xoxo,

Quick and Easy Homemade Gift Recipes

Whenever we’re stumped on what to gift someone, we always turn to Susan for some easy homemade recipes that are sure to please. In addition to having a wealth of knowledge on skincare, she’s also an amazing cook! Here are two recipes from her for you to try for yourself or package up and gift this season.

Aloe and Cucumber Mask

For the Aloe and Cucumber mask, be sure to store in the fridge when not in use. When gifting, be sure to pack it in an air tight bottle.

Another idea we love is including all the dry ingredients for a soup in a glass canister with a recipe card attached so that all that’s left to do is add the dry ingredients. Here’s a recipe for Susan’s famous Adzuki Bean Soup:

What’s your favorite homemade gift?

Bring the Spa to Your Home

spa day
Snow is falling, temperatures are dropping, and the kids will soon have off from school. Getting to the spa may get more difficult this time of year as your social calendar fills up. Don’t miss out on the relaxing and rejuvenating benefits you get from a day of beauty. Indulge yourself by creating your private spa at home and pamper yourself for ultimate relaxation with these easy tips. Invite your girlfriends and their daughters and host an at-home spa party for the ultimate girls’ day in.

Prepare:

  • Before the party, have freshly washed, cozy towels ready. Toss them in the dryer to keep them warm until they’re needed. Stash a cooling gel eye mask in the freezer or slice cucumbers to use over your eyes. You can also create a calming playlist with tunes that will inspire you to unwind.
  • Create the serene spa atmosphere. Make sure to warm up your room and burn some incense or a naturally scented candle, anything that will make you relax. Here at the Susan Ciminelli Beauty Clinic, we use champa scented incense and the Serenite candle. Prepare some delicious warm tea.
  • Enjoy:

  • Relax in a luxurious seaweed bath while you detoxify your system and nourish your skin at the same time. You could add 2-3 spoons of Susan Ciminelli Algae Fine Powder to a warm bath. Soak for 45 minutes in tranquility.
  • Treat yourself to a facial. Susan’s signature facials utilizes all of her face care products, so you really can treat yourself at home! To get the true benefits of a facial, steam your face so you can perform some extractions in a magnifying mirror. Click here for an easy 5 step DIY facial. You can instructions from Susan on how to steam your face at home on page 196 of The Ciminelli Solution.
  • Remove impurities from your pores with a clay mask. Clay draws toxins out of the skin and calms irritation from environmental factors. After you rinse it off, gently massage your face with your moisturizer. You can also try making your own mask with ingredients found in your kitchen. Susan has several recipes in her book, or you can find some here.
  • Learn the basics of reflexology and practice on your daughter or friend. This Ancient Far East foot massage technique provides full body tension relief. It’s a favorite of our clients, and we’re sure you’ll love it, too!
  • Relax:

  • When you are done with your at-home treatments, take a break. To increase your inner peace, practice deep breathing. Allow your mind to wander for a bit and keep away from your Smartphone and laptop before you join the real world again.
  • For more inspiration, you can check out our Pinterest board, “At-Home Spa Party.”
