Susan Ciminelli @ The Buffalo Club

This past weekend I returned to my hometown in Buffalo New York, where I had the pleasure to work at the beautiful Buffalo Club giving treatments out of their spa. The majority of clients whom I performed treatments on, had extremely rough, chapped, dry skin due to the harsh weather conditions. Within the first five minutes of my facials, clients were amazed, they were completely blown away. Their skin felt as soft as a baby’s bottom! This was simply from the use of both my Cleansing Milk and Algae Deep Cleanse, (used two times back to back). In Buffalo they experience extremely cold weather conditions. Weather has a major effect on the skin’s health; you want to make sure you use skincare products that are very hydrating for the skin.

It is important to understand the three main causes for dryness, and how to address them.

  1. Using the wrong skincare products, or not using the correct skincare products the right way. For example, when using my Cleansing Milk this must be removed with a warm damp washcloth. This ensures a more thorough cleanse.
  2. When the body lacks of nutrients such as vitamins and minerals, the skin will be extremely dry. It’s crucial that you are eating foods that contain various vitamins and minerals, vegetables are a great source for this.
  3. Not getting enough hydration through your foods and liquids, or drinking soda. There is nothing like getting hydration through plain water. You should be drinking 8, 8-ounce glasses of water a day. The water should be room temperature. It is ok to add some fresh squeezed lemon to the water.

Reference my book, The Ciminelli Solution: A 7-Day Plan for Radiant Skin, for a step-by-step, day-by-day thorough cleansing program. Additionally, I am available to give nutritional consultations both in person and by phone. If you are interested in booking an appointment, please call the Beauty Clinic at (212) 750 -4441.

With Gratitude,
Susan Ciminelli

New Year, New You!

In honor of the New Year, we are offering many specials at the Beauty Clinic. Start the year off right by treating yourself to one or many of our products and services on promotion. Many of our service specials include a discount off a facial. Ideally, you should be gettinga facial once a month. Facials increase the circulation of the blood under the skin, allowing for optimal skin health. Blackheads can be especially difficult to eliminate at home, however when you receive a facial, our estheticians will use skin softening techniques to gently extract clogged pores, blackheads, and impurities without causing harm to the skin. With the cold weather this time of year, the skin can become dehydrated much quicker. Regardless of the skin type, the skin needs hydration to stay healthy. A facial will help to regulate the moisture level for all types of skin.

Our Revitalizing Sensitive Skin Moisturizeris a perfect winter time moisturizer, helping to calm even the driest most sensitive skin. It is blended with antioxidants to calm irritation and stimulate collagen production.

Made up of various essential oils including Lavender, Rosemary and Mint, Special Reserve is another moisturizer perfect for winter, guaranteed to keep the skin hydrated while also reducing wrinkles on the skin.

Body Buff, great for all types of skin, is our exotic, non-abrasive full body scrub that leaves the skin feeling silky smooth, soft and radiant. It is essential to exfoliate the body at least once per week to remove dead skin cells from the body. The Dead Sea salts in Body Buff will gently exfoliate the skin while the essential oils will replenish moisture into the skin and repair damage caused by stress and harsh environments.
