How Sea Clay Can Benefit Your Skin

Before I get into the many benefits of sea clay, I wanted to give you a quick history lesson of it’s origin. Sea Clay comes from the Dead Sea located in Israel and Jordan, about 15 miles east of Jerusalem. It’s known as the lowest surface on the planet and because it has a salt concentration seven times that of the ocean, there is no life in the water besides bacteria. Ancient populations used to soothe a variety of illnesses and injuries and even to this day, people visit the Dead Sea for spa treatments and therapies.

Since it comes from the Earth and is completely natural, Sea Clay contains a ton of important nutrients such as magnesium, potassium, calcium, sulfate, aluminum and iron. As some of you may know, sea clay is found in many products like soaps, bath bombs, sugar scrubs, herbal teas, and of course, face masks. For skin care, it’s amazing for hydrating and moisturizing your skin. It can also treat skin imperfections such as acne, psoriasis and eczema.

Sea clay is great for oily skin because it has absorption properties. Some common ingredients found in home made sea clay masks are avocado oil, hazelnut oil, polawax emulsifying wax, tea tree essential oil, sea clay, kaolin clay, ginseng extract and optiphen. Susan Ciminelli has an amazing, all natural sea clay mask that combine nutrients from the earth and the sea. Seawater extracts and clay sediments absorb excess oils, tighten pores, calm redness and stimulate circulation without drying the skin as impurities rise to the surface. Other ingredients in this product include, algae extract, seaweed extract, aloe vera, cornflower extract, lime extract, wheat germ and zinc oxide. This sea clay mask rids your skin of toxins accumulated from poor food choices and environmental factors which can cause blemishes, redness and clogged pores, giving you clearer, softer skin.

Earth Day

Earth Day is here, and it is now more than ever that we must be more self conscious, aware and respectful of our planet. Although you are only one person, letting others in on some helpful tips to help save the planet, protect it and creating a clean environment for you and future generations to come. Below we have shared a few tips to help get the ball rolling.

  • Reuse and re-purpose paper and plastic shopping bags, glass and plastic jars and containers. This will cut down on land fill and help save the planet.
  • When using cleaning products for home etc. use just enough to do the job. Remember, the water that you use carries the soap and chemicals right into our water supply. It affects the health of the fish that we consume as well as the purity of our water.
  • Micro cloths are a good substitute for paper towels because they can be reused over and over again.
  • If you smoke,it is bad enough that you are killing yourself and other people with the toxic smoke that you release into the air, but please avoid throwing your cigarette butts onto the city streets and sidewalks. This is a major source of pollution for our cities pipes and our water supply. Put the cigarette out properly and then use the public trash cans provided by the city, this will help save the planet.
  • Purchase water in large bottles, preferably glass whenever possible. Small water bottles adds tons to our landfills daily.
  • Buy in bulk whenever and whatever possible, then utilize the smaller containers you are recycling from in your own home. This will save you money and also the precious land fills.

We are destroying rain forests as well as other forests and displacing animals habitat along the way, not to mention what it is doing to the climate. If you love your children and your family and want a future for them, try and help make these changes now before it is too late. Please pass these tips on! Enjoy the beautiful day today, and everyday. Make it a great day!

Transitioning Your Skincare Routine in Spring from the Brutal Winter

Facial 2

As we transition from winter to spring our skincare routine needs to transform with us. Thanks to the frigid temperatures this past winter weve gone through dreary moods, dry, and itchy skin that have wreaked havoc on our bodies, so weve slather ourselves with heavy balms and serums. Now that the warmer air is on the way we have to prep our skin for the sunny day ahead.

Susan Ciminelli shares a few tips on glowing skin for Spring time!

  1. The first thing to do is replace your cleanser with a lightweight creamy one. We also recommend a cleanser with hyaluronic acid for extra hydration and keeping pores cleaned.

Hyaluronic acid is a lubricating, clear substance thats produced by the body naturally. In the human body, hyaluronic acid is found in the greatest concentrations in the skin, inside joints, within the eye sockets and in other tissues where it helps retain collagen, increase moisture, and provide elasticity and flexibility.

  1. Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate! You dont just do it to your whole body, you do it to your fast too. You want to get rid of all of the dry skin particles and blocked pores.

Our Algae Deep Cleanse is the perfect cleanser for spring and any season. This unique, natural exfoliant contains glycogen that melts away dead skin cells deep within pores, leaving skin feeling smooth and soft after months of harsh weather. Algae Deep Cleanse can be used around the eyes, mouth, neck, and dcollet to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. This best-selling cleanser is priced at $65.00.

Cut down excess oil by incorporating products containing glycolic acid.

  1. You also want to transition into a light-weight moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and cool throughout the day. The skin holds more water in the spring and summer so it is important use SPF 30 or higher.

Our Moisture Replenishing Day Cream soothes dry skin and softens fine lines and wrinkles. This cream is comprised of essential ingredients such as shea butter, Vitamins A, C, and E, and soybean protein, all of which serve to nourish and heal skin after the cold, drying winter months. This day cream is priced at $125.00.

  1. Summer skincare routine should be fairly simple. Instead of a heavy foundation opt-in for a tinted moisturizer.

Very Berry Serums antioxidant-rich formula is essential for providing your skin with nutrients, combating free radicals, and preventing wrinkles. This ultra-lightweight serum also adds a natural tint to skin when added to your day or night cream. This serum is priced at $105.00.

  1. Combat Dry Skin with a hydrating mask.

Whether youre in need of a quick skin pick-me-up or looking to return your skin to its natural glow and youthful appearance, 1-2-3 Glow kit is the perfect solution. This affordable kit provides a luxurious, spa-worthy facial that you can do at home, including a skin peel, a nourishing skin-activating serum, and a deep hydrating mask. In less than thirty minutes, you can have healthy skin and a long-lasting, luminous glow. This beauty treatment is being offered at $29.99.
