The Power of Essential Oils

Essential oils are all natural and are the driving life force for all plants. They have been used all around the world for thousands of years for beauty treatment as well as medical and healing purposes. Much like acupuncture, essential oils stimulate energy flow and circulation as well as eliminate bacteria and fungus that cause skin problems such as blemishes. They are good for moisturizing, soothing, toning and preserving the skin. They are antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial containing key ingredients like vitamin E, apricot kernel oil and other natural ingredients like lavender, basil, thyme, lemongrass, etc. These oils are also the source of our fragrance for each product. Susan’s product line has four different formulas for different skin types; however, all of our unique products have essential oils in them which plump the skin and give you a healthy glow.

  • Our Hydrating Formula is best for people with dry skin. It helps diminish fine lines around the eye and lip area and plumps the skin leaving you with soft and radiant skin. Not to mention, this product is a longtime favorite of Martha Stewart and Jennifer Lopez.
  • Our Sensitive Skin Formula is best suited for sensitive, dry and ruddy complexions. This formula was created after Susan went to Egypt a few times. It incorporates the same oils that were used by the Ancient Egyptians to protect their skin in a harsh environment. This formula nurtures sensitive skin by calming redness and repairing broken capillaries while also energizing your skin and increasing its metabolism.
  • The Toning Formula is best used for combination skin and it will tighten your pores, minimize bacteria, reduce blackheads, and balance your skin tone.
  • Our last formula is the Oil Control Formula which is for oily or acne-prone skin. A lot of people have been disappointed by harsh medical treatments that attack the skin; Susans oil control formula will make blackheads and blemishes disappear. The natural antiseptics in this spot treatment eliminate bacteria on the skins surface and deep within glands and it quickly minimizes excess oil.

Essential oils can help remedy a number of skin conditions such as acne, aging, dryness and oiliness. They can help you attain and maintain a clear and flawless complexion and when combined with the right products, you will see absolutely amazing results!

How Susan Ciminelli Transformed my Skin

Hello Ladies! I’m here to talk to you about how Susan Ciminelli’s products changed my skin dramatically within 2 weeks of use. I’m 22 years old and have never had BAD skin, however I did have many issues. I have a naturally pinkish/red pigment to my skin that never seems to go away. And to add insult to injury, I used to do so much damage to my skin by using makeup remover wipes. If you don’t already know, those kinds of wipes contain added preservatives to increase shelf life so you’re probably exposing your skin to extra formaldehyde-releasing chemicals. It also doesn’t ACTUALLY clean your skin but rather just smears dirt, bacteria, oil and makeup across your face. It’s no wonder my face was left red and irritated. If you have sensitive skin like me, this is probably one of the worst things you can do. On top of that, I also used drug store brand moisturizer that I would cake onto my face after “washing” my face with soap based face wash. All of these classic mistakes contributed to the condition my skin was in. A big pimple here and there was not uncommon for me but I would just put on more and more makeup to cover it up which in turn would make my skin worse and it was just a vicious cycle.

Now, let me tell you about my skin AFTER using Susan Ciminelli products. The difference is seriously amazing. I’m not super familiar with high end skin care products, or any kind of skin care products for that matter, but Susan walked me through some of her products, explaining each one in detail, step by step. It’s amazing (and slightly embarrassing) how uninformed I was before this. The first step is removing my makeup, which as you know I took the lazy route and grabbed a wipe. I swear Susan almost had a heart attack when I said this. I now use Susan’s Cleansing Milk which is so gentle on my skin and all you need is a little dab to rub around your face. Then you wipe it off with a damp washcloth and you can immediately feel your makeup and grime disappear. It even removes my black eyeliner and mascara; so amazing! After that I use the pore minimizing cleanser and it is seriously life changing. I used to wash my face and afterwards would still feel like there’s a leftover film of dirt on my face that I just could not seem to get rid of. This cleanser is so powerful yet gentle at the same time. It exfoliates and tones your skin and has antiseptic properties to prevent acne breakouts. A lot of cleansers out there are usually very harsh on your skin, which for people like me that are extra sensitive, can leave the skin irritated.

One of my favorite products is the essential oils. I use the hydrating formula that you put on after cleansing. You can feel the moisture setting into your skin as soon as you put this on your face. And even better, spraying the Seawater right after further penetrates the skin resulting in even more hydration. Lastly I put on the restorative red marine algae cream at night. This is the best for dry skin but is usually for more mature skin so I would recommend the power C moisturizer for someone younger. The red marine algae creme is perfect for softening fine lines and wrinkles and makes your skin feel firmer. All of these products used together have completely transformed the complexion and tone and even reduced the redness of my skin. I find myself wearing less makeup and haven’t had a single pimple or blemish since I’ve started using them. I’m so excited that I discovered this right before the summer season so my skin is smooth and glowy and I can’t wait to try more of Susan’s products!

How Sea Clay Can Benefit Your Skin

Before I get into the many benefits of sea clay, I wanted to give you a quick history lesson of it’s origin. Sea Clay comes from the Dead Sea located in Israel and Jordan, about 15 miles east of Jerusalem. It’s known as the lowest surface on the planet and because it has a salt concentration seven times that of the ocean, there is no life in the water besides bacteria. Ancient populations used to soothe a variety of illnesses and injuries and even to this day, people visit the Dead Sea for spa treatments and therapies.

Since it comes from the Earth and is completely natural, Sea Clay contains a ton of important nutrients such as magnesium, potassium, calcium, sulfate, aluminum and iron. As some of you may know, sea clay is found in many products like soaps, bath bombs, sugar scrubs, herbal teas, and of course, face masks. For skin care, it’s amazing for hydrating and moisturizing your skin. It can also treat skin imperfections such as acne, psoriasis and eczema.

Sea clay is great for oily skin because it has absorption properties. Some common ingredients found in home made sea clay masks are avocado oil, hazelnut oil, polawax emulsifying wax, tea tree essential oil, sea clay, kaolin clay, ginseng extract and optiphen. Susan Ciminelli has an amazing, all natural sea clay mask that combine nutrients from the earth and the sea. Seawater extracts and clay sediments absorb excess oils, tighten pores, calm redness and stimulate circulation without drying the skin as impurities rise to the surface. Other ingredients in this product include, algae extract, seaweed extract, aloe vera, cornflower extract, lime extract, wheat germ and zinc oxide. This sea clay mask rids your skin of toxins accumulated from poor food choices and environmental factors which can cause blemishes, redness and clogged pores, giving you clearer, softer skin.

Earth Day

Earth Day is here, and it is now more than ever that we must be more self conscious, aware and respectful of our planet. Although you are only one person, letting others in on some helpful tips to help save the planet, protect it and creating a clean environment for you and future generations to come. Below we have shared a few tips to help get the ball rolling.

  • Reuse and re-purpose paper and plastic shopping bags, glass and plastic jars and containers. This will cut down on land fill and help save the planet.
  • When using cleaning products for home etc. use just enough to do the job. Remember, the water that you use carries the soap and chemicals right into our water supply. It affects the health of the fish that we consume as well as the purity of our water.
  • Micro cloths are a good substitute for paper towels because they can be reused over and over again.
  • If you smoke,it is bad enough that you are killing yourself and other people with the toxic smoke that you release into the air, but please avoid throwing your cigarette butts onto the city streets and sidewalks. This is a major source of pollution for our cities pipes and our water supply. Put the cigarette out properly and then use the public trash cans provided by the city, this will help save the planet.
  • Purchase water in large bottles, preferably glass whenever possible. Small water bottles adds tons to our landfills daily.
  • Buy in bulk whenever and whatever possible, then utilize the smaller containers you are recycling from in your own home. This will save you money and also the precious land fills.

We are destroying rain forests as well as other forests and displacing animals habitat along the way, not to mention what it is doing to the climate. If you love your children and your family and want a future for them, try and help make these changes now before it is too late. Please pass these tips on! Enjoy the beautiful day today, and everyday. Make it a great day!

Best wishes,

Transitioning Your Skincare Routine in Spring from the Brutal Winter

Facial 2

As we transition from winter to spring our skincare routine needs to transform with us. Thanks to the frigid temperatures this past winter weve gone through dreary moods, dry, and itchy skin that have wreaked havoc on our bodies, so weve slather ourselves with heavy balms and serums. Now that the warmer air is on the way we have to prep our skin for the sunny day ahead.

Susan Ciminelli shares a few tips on glowing skin for Spring time!

  1. The first thing to do is replace your cleanser with a lightweight creamy one. We also recommend a cleanser with hyaluronic acid for extra hydration and keeping pores cleaned.

Hyaluronic acid is a lubricating, clear substance thats produced by the body naturally. In the human body, hyaluronic acid is found in the greatest concentrations in the skin, inside joints, within the eye sockets and in other tissues where it helps retain collagen, increase moisture, and provide elasticity and flexibility.

  1. Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate! You dont just do it to your whole body, you do it to your fast too. You want to get rid of all of the dry skin particles and blocked pores.

Our Algae Deep Cleanse is the perfect cleanser for spring and any season. This unique, natural exfoliant contains glycogen that melts away dead skin cells deep within pores, leaving skin feeling smooth and soft after months of harsh weather. Algae Deep Cleanse can be used around the eyes, mouth, neck, and dcollet to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. This best-selling cleanser is priced at $65.00.

Cut down excess oil by incorporating products containing glycolic acid.

  1. You also want to transition into a light-weight moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and cool throughout the day. The skin holds more water in the spring and summer so it is important use SPF 30 or higher.

Our Moisture Replenishing Day Cream soothes dry skin and softens fine lines and wrinkles. This cream is comprised of essential ingredients such as shea butter, Vitamins A, C, and E, and soybean protein, all of which serve to nourish and heal skin after the cold, drying winter months. This day cream is priced at $125.00.

  1. Summer skincare routine should be fairly simple. Instead of a heavy foundation opt-in for a tinted moisturizer.

Very Berry Serums antioxidant-rich formula is essential for providing your skin with nutrients, combating free radicals, and preventing wrinkles. This ultra-lightweight serum also adds a natural tint to skin when added to your day or night cream. This serum is priced at $105.00.

  1. Combat Dry Skin with a hydrating mask.

Whether youre in need of a quick skin pick-me-up or looking to return your skin to its natural glow and youthful appearance, 1-2-3 Glow kit is the perfect solution. This affordable kit provides a luxurious, spa-worthy facial that you can do at home, including a skin peel, a nourishing skin-activating serum, and a deep hydrating mask. In less than thirty minutes, you can have healthy skin and a long-lasting, luminous glow. This beauty treatment is being offered at $29.99.

The Lovely Essence of Lavender

42610800 - sunset over a violet lavender field in provence, france

Lavender, a popular essential oil since ancient times, derived from the Latin word Lavare, meaning to wash. Lavender oil comes from lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), an easy-to-grow, evergreen shrub that produces clumps of beautiful, scented flowers above green or silvery-gray foliage. The aroma of this essential oil does exactly that, it has a very clean and calming scent that lingers making one feel rather refreshed after the first inhale.

Lavender oil is used in many different products from cleaning solutions, home essentials (candles, diffusers), skincare products, etc. In this post, we will enlighten you on the benefits of Lavender oil when it is applied topically and as a popular ingredient in skin care products.

It is by far one of the most beneficial oils in treating acne. Acne can be defined as red sores that develop due to bacterial infection near the sebum gland. What is the Sebum gland? I’m glad you asked. Sebum is a naturally occurring substance that moisturizes, lubricates and protects the skin and hair. Explained by, The Science of Acne, its a complex mixture of naturally produced fats, oils, waxes, cholesterol and other molecules. When sebum cannot release itself, it begins to build up. Individuals with acne symptoms are often linked with having sebum overproduction. This can increase clogged pores, stimulate inflammation, and provide nutrients for bacterial growth. A vicious cycle begins to occur while the bacteria feed off of the sebum causing irritation, infections, and blemishes that all result in scarring. This is where Lavender Oil comes to the rescue, natures antioxidant super hero as Dr. Axe would say. It contains properties that are antibacterial and anti-fungal which is one of the reasons it is beneficial to skin. A study, published in Journal of Medical Microbiology, found that lavender oil kills fungi by damaging their cell walls. The best part is that this oil does not cause resistance, unlike antibiotics. Lavender oil restrains bacteria that causes the initial infections, manipulates hormones by regulating amount of sebum being released, and can minimize scarring left from acne. It can treat various skin problems such as acne, wrinkles, psoriasis, and other inflammatory conditions.

Other benefits of Lavender Oil:

  • Cancer
  • Nervous system
  • Pain relief
  • Hair care
  • Insomnia
  • Improves digestion and blood circulation

Only the finest natural botanical’s from the earth and oceans including antioxidants, vitamins and minerals are integrated into Susan’s cleansers, blends of pure essential oils, toner, serums, moisturizers, and facial masks. Here at Susan Ciminelli, the products containing lavender oil are Cleansing Milk, Bamboo Ginger Scrub, Sensitive Skin Formula, Very Berry Antioxidant Serum, Eye and Wrinkle Cream, Toning Bath and Body Buff.
