WINTER TIPS FOR HEALTH AND BEAUTY

Eat more root vegetables in the winter such as parsnips, carrots, turnips, and beets to fortify your immune system. Soups are always warm and inviting in the winter. They should be bean based. Mung beans, lentils, white or navy beans, fava or soy beans are a great addition to all soups. They contain both protein and carbs but are also a great source of fiber and minerals, both of which are great for beautifying the complexion and cleansing the body from the inside out.

To ward off a cold or flu, add 10 drops of Grapefruit Seed Extract to a glass of water with Cranberry Emeregen-C. This will help the body gain strength and fight the germs that make us sick. It acts very quickly on the immune system.

Gargle with warm water and Epsom or Sea Salt added to it. Add 1 Tablespoon of salt to an 8 ounce glass of purified water and gargle with this a few times a week. After you gargle, swallow a tablespoon of unfiltered raw honey. Honey is also known to soothe a sore throat and kill bacteria.

Dress in layers. Wear silk close to your body. And end with cashmere or wool sweaters. Wear a hat when you go out to protect and insulate your body temperature.

Use several humidifiers in your house. The filterless ones are the easiest to use and the most efficient. Using humidifiers helps keep the skin hydrated, and also helps to soothe sinuses and helps prevent nose bleeds as well.

Use a body lotion right after you dry off after a bath or shower to seal moisture in to the skin. Apply your favorite cream to your feet then put soft cotton socks on before bed to keep your feet pretty during the winter months.
